Many of the most tragic stories are hidden beneath an impressive career. Lolo Jones, who won both USA championships and World Championships in hurdle events is able to reach her present position with a lot struggle as well as a lot of perseverance. Jones had the most difficult of lives being the daughter of a single mother who was also a mother to five kids. Her mother was constantly on the move, and had even been living in a basement church for some length of time. Jones lived a nomadic existence that forced her to change schools each year, until she reached the age of high school. Jones was forced to move away from her mother in Theodore Roosevelt School to follow her passion for track. Jones lived in four different houses during her highschool years in order to study in a single location. Jones won an award called the Gatorade Iowa Track & Field Award for the Best Athlete during her time at school. She also was involved in the orchestra at school, playing a cello player. Jones began her athletic career in college as one the top hurdlers. In 2002, at the NCAA Track and Field Championships in 2002, Jones took home the 100 meter hurdles. In addition, she was on the winning team for the 100-meter relay. In 2003 and 2004 Jones won the hurdles indoor event at the NCAA Championship. Jones began her track and field career in 2005 after she finished her university studies. In 2005 she won the winner of Torino Memorial race. Torino Memorial race, in 2006 she was one of the Heusden and Ostrava racers.

Brandt was raised and born in Cape Town, South Africa. She immigrated from Cape Town to Auckland New Zealand with her family during her late teens. Discovered by local casting directors Brandt assumed the character of Naevia in the Starz hits Spartacus: Blood and Sand and Spartacus: Gods of the Arena. She was one of the breakout stars for the show, working alongside Steven S. D Knight and Sam Raimi. She starred in the hit Netflix series Lucifer that had a six year run playing the fan favorite Vertigo/DC comic book character Mazikeen. Forbes recognized Lucifer at the end of 2021, as the show that had the highest amount of viewers who binge watched. Brandt will next appear alongside Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira in the 6 episode limited Walking Dead spin-off which airs in 2024. Also, she stars with Jason Ritter Anthony Carrigan Chris Meloni and Chris Meloni as Captain Fall in an adult animated film that will be released on Netflix on July 20, 2023. Lesley Ann Brandt was born 2nd December in Cape Town, South Africa. She is a renowned New Zealand actress. Lesley Brandt along with the other members of her family moved to Auckland New Zealand, in 1999. In Auckland Brandt started as a retail worker, but was later upgraded to IT Management Consultant. After a few modelling projects, Lesley appeared in many commercials. The year 2008 was the time she completed her studies in acting. Then, in 2009 she began her training again with the Meisner method of study. Lesley's debut prominent role with New Zealand was as a TV actor in Diplomatic Immunity. Lesley Brandt is a supporting guest on New Zealand television drama Shortland Street. Later she appeared in a sci-fi drama arrangement This Is Not My Life that is based on the fictional city of Waimoana. Lesley Brandt was cast in the Television show Spartacus: Blood and Sand as Naevia who was a teenager hostage and later depicts her character in Spartacus: Gods of the Arena mini-series.
